    • Field Investigations in Nairobi City County and Its Environs – Week 1

    Between the 23rd and 25th of October 2024, NECC carried out investigations into three issues:

    23rd October:

    A stalled sewer line causing raw sewage discharge in a residential area along Ngong Road, within the Karen.

    Meeting With Representatives from KLDA
    Stagnated Waste Water in a Section of the Ngong Road Stormwater Drains
    Overflown and Damaged Manhole

    24th October:

    The potential sale of a wetland located in the Mountain View area.

    Consultative Meeting with Environment Stakeholders in Mt. View Ward

    A Tree Nursery observed in the wetland
    Area Residents observed using groundwater for domestic purposes

    25th October:

    Construction activities within the Kenya Railway tracks reserve behind Plot in Industrial Area. The complaint states these activities occurred without public participation and have encroached upon and blocked the sewage and stormwater drainage systems servicing the complainant’s premises.
