23rd May 2024: Environment and Climate Change Principal Secretary Eng. Festus K. Ng’eno called on the Vihiga County Commissioner Felix Watakila at his Mbale office and was received by Florence Sitawa, DCC Vihiga Sub-County. Accompanied by Secretary of Administration Mr. John Elungata and CEOs Samson Toniok (NETFUND), Mamo Mamo (NEMA), Julius Tanui (KWTA), and Mary Njogu (NECC), among others, the PS is in the county for the accelerated tree-growing exercise at Maragoli Hills.
Subsequently, Principal Secretary Eng. Festus K. Ng’eno and Vihiga County Governor Dr. Wilbur Otichillo led a tree-growing exercise at Maragoli Hills in Vihiga County ahead of the main event tomorrow, where more than 10,000 trees will be planted. #JazaMiti #ClimateAction #15BillionTrees
24th May 2024: Tree planting activity at Maragoll Hills in Vihiga County, where 16,000 trees were planted to support the ongoing 15 billion tree planting campaign. Overseeing this effort were NECC Committee Secretary Ms. Mary Njogu, NETFUND CEO Mr. Samson Toniok, KFS Vihiga Forest Manager Mr. George Aimo, ACC Vihiga Edward Epuret, and Mungoma Area Chief Esther Vidija, along with other leaders collectively coordinating the exercise.
