Week 2 of Field Investigations in Nairobi City County and its Environs, April 22nd to April 26th, 2024

From April 22nd to April 26th, 2024, the NECC conducted engagements in Nairobi City County and its surrounding areas to address urgent environmental concerns.

These issues encompassed:

  1. Addressing construction activities that are causing damage to neighboring premises in South C, Muhoho Avenue, Nairobi.
  2. Investigating inadequate stormwater drainage systems, open manholes, and stagnant stormwater at Highway Mall along the Uhuru Highway stretch in Nairobi.
  3. Examining waste disposal along Limuru – Tigoni Road.
  4. Investigating the pollution resulting from waste disposal in the Kiu River.
  5. Addressing the illegal disposal of effluent into a storm drain, which is adversely affecting Getathuru River in Mwimuto Kitisuru, Nairobi County.
