From April 22nd to April 26th, 2024, the NECC conducted engagements in Nairobi City County and its surrounding areas to address urgent environmental concerns.
These issues encompassed:
- Addressing construction activities that are causing damage to neighboring premises in South C, Muhoho Avenue, Nairobi.
- Investigating inadequate stormwater drainage systems, open manholes, and stagnant stormwater at Highway Mall along the Uhuru Highway stretch in Nairobi.
- Examining waste disposal along Limuru – Tigoni Road.
- Investigating the pollution resulting from waste disposal in the Kiu River.
- Addressing the illegal disposal of effluent into a storm drain, which is adversely affecting Getathuru River in Mwimuto Kitisuru, Nairobi County.
