NECC undertook field investigation of complaints received in the following counties: Machakos county, Makueni County, Kajiado County and Kitui County as from 11th to 14th February 2019.
A report of its findings and recommendations will be sent to the involved entities. The following issues were investigated;
1.Deforestation in Mutha ,Kitui County
2.Coal mining in Mui Basin;Kitui County
3.Air pollution by a tile mining company-Kajiado County
4.Quarrying in Kajiado County
5.Lead contamination(air,soil and water)-Machakos County
6.Deforestation in Kivale forest;Follow up-Makueni County
7. Car Washing leading to water pollution in Wote-Makueni County
8.Follow up on Asbestos disposal and Sand Harvesting-Machakos County
